Project Engineer
Name: Brandon
Location: Devonport
Sector: Nuclear
Meet Brandon, a Project Engineer at Devonport, who is applying his engineering expertise and armed forces background to his role after a long and varied military career.
“It was a friend who told me about the project engineer roles available here. He said Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» would guarantee an interview to former armed forces providing they were suitably qualified for the role. My engineering qualification and experience certainly qualified me, but I also liked the terms and conditions Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» were offering, so I applied for a role working with submarines.â€
“Most of my engineering background comes from working with vehicle fleets but the engineering principles are the same and I’m able to apply them in my current role.â€
We stand side by side with the armed forces
Our career opportunities are open to all members of the armed forces community, if you are a service leaver then we guarantee you an interview, as long as you meet the minimum requirements for the role.
“There are a lot of former Royal Navy personnel working in Devonport, and with a submarines/ warships background that would be expected. But there are also quite a few former members of the Army too, and it is good to be working around other former service personnel – the work ethic is similar, and the sense of humour certainly is too!â€
“I’m looking to advance my career at Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» and get back into people leadership and management. With some more experience of the systems, and with the support of my line manager, I know I can get there.â€
